Embedded Vine Video: Cats At Play!

My students, in one of my classes, will be creating Vine videos and then embedding them into their blogs. Click in the top left corner to view the six second video with sound. See below for the steps to embed your Vine video in Blogger.

This is GiGi, a Persian calico, who, like most cats, loves to play in bags!

Sylvester, also a Persian, loves to rub his face against objects, such as pens.

Vine is fun- lots of potential for offbeat videos like these, but also for marketing, promotions, and news too.  Simply put, Vine is divine!

Steps to post Vine videos on Blogger: (insert URL in HTML setting)
In Blogger when you are in the New Post part, write a few or more lines to set up your Vine video. When you are ready to put in the embed URL (go to your Vine video and click on the three dots--... but vertical--next to the video which will show you ways to share the video. Click on embed and copy the URL that comes up.)
When you are posting in Blogger, the blank page has the words "Compose" and "HTML" at the top left of the screen. Normally it is is Compose. But to embed your Vine video, at the point in your post where you want us to see the video, switch from Compose to HTML. In HTML you'll see all the code. Paste in the embed URL. Then go back to Compose. Your video will now be seen!

Bulldog Barber Shop Commercial

S.C. State students are fortunate to have a fine barbershop right here on campus! Check out this 30 second commercial I prepared to help get the word out about the "Bulldog Barber"- Mr. Thad Miller! The school barbershop has been open just over a year now. Barber Thad Miller has more than 30 years experience cutting hair.  This video is also on YouTube.

Students need to go to the S.C. State Cashier's Office to pay and get the receipt to present before getting their cuts at the Kirkland W. Green Student Center (aka The PITT).

Having some fun learning a free new program called Kizoa.
Here's a slideshow I put together from photos taken in Aruba in May during a wonderful vacation with my wife Alesia. As they say on the island, Bon Dia!

Kizoa slideshows may not appear in the icon form below on some smart phones but you can click still click here to see the show.

Nov. 10, 2014-Here's another Kizoa slideshow I put together over the weekend from photographs I took on a recent sunny beautiful fall day at Charleston's Magnolia Cemetery.

Magnolia Birds - Video Maker

I have written two books about Magnolia Cemetery: "The Birds of Magnolia Cemetery: Charleston's Secret Bird Sanctuary" (I guess the secret's out now!) and more recently "In the Arms of Angels: Magnolia Cemetery- Charleston's Treasure of History, Mystery and Artistry." Details on the books and more of my bird and nature photography can be found at my BirdsEyeViews website.

Photo Processing: Before and After!

That wacky Professor Harwood gave us an assignment to use Photoshop or other image editing software to show we can improve the quality of images using such tools...or just have fun and do something creative. I have a little of each in my presentation.

On Feb. 8, 1968 some 150 protesters, including many SCSU students, gathered at the All Star Bowling Alley on Russell Street, which was segregated. Black were not allowed to bowl there.
