Advanced TV Production & Editing Final Exam Project

Final Exam Date/Time: Thursday, Dec. 4, 9-10:50 a.m. (lab)

These videos must be completed by our exam date and time!

Come to the lab on our exam date to talk about and present your two public service announcements (PSAs) that you are to post on your blogs. Post each video individually with writing before and after the video icon. Also have at least two links embedded within your writing.

Video Topics (must do both) :
1.     1.  “The Influence of James Brown: His Imprint on Music, Dance, Style and Politics” exhibit, which runs at S.C. State’s I.P. Stanback Museum and Planetarium Oct. 31-July 2015
ü  Create an original 30 or 60 second PSA from video you take at this exhibit- we visited as a class on Nov. 18
ü  Highlight the importance and uniqueness of the collection
ü  Use James Brown music in your PSA
ü  PSA can be voiced by you or not- you may instead use on-screen information to present basic and other information

2.      2S.C. State’s Miller F. Whittaker Library
ü  Create an original 30 or 60 second PSA that can help raise awareness about things students should know about the S.C. State Library
ü  Use information gathered from our Nov. 13 meeting with library dean Andrienne Webber to guide your concept
ü  Convey that there are important resources and knowledge that students should be aware of and use at the library
ü  Consider creating a skit (of sorts) to convey a positive message about the library- see this exam time management PSA as an example
ü  Use music, on-screen wording, voice over, etc. to make the PSA as effective as possible.
For ideas (maybe inspiration!), see these library PSAs:  Orlando, Fla.   Super Librarian! Lincoln, Neb. Library Theft, Newark, N.J., Lima, Ohio

Video Project Value: Each of these two videos is worth 25 points. The remaining 50 points of the final exam score will come from your professor’s evaluation of your blog. Your Bulldog Barber Shop or similar video commercial must be posted on your blog along with appropriate writing and links before and after the video icon.
