I am having my digital media students prepare a "Top 10" Prezi presentation. The topic can be anything of their choosing. As a demonstration I put together this Prezi of ten of my favorite figures at Charleston's beautiful and historic Magnolia Cemetery. I have written two books about this venerable place! See my BirdsEyeViews blog for details.
There is a "trick" to embedding a Prezi on a Blogger post. It's easy but you have to do it just like described here. Enter the code in the new blog post HTML mode, not Compose.

Prezi Project: 10 Favorite Figures at Charleston's Magnolia Cemetery

I acknowledge that this isn't a true Prezi in that you cannot move from image to image. I'm a bit rusty on Prezi Next, which came out a few years ago. I had done many Prezis in the previous version and frankly prefer that one.
But times change, so I'll work some more to do a proper Prezi and will post here when it's ready.
There are a few steps to embed a Prezi on Blogger. Here's a link to show how.
Check also this old version Prezi showing my favorite bulldog statues on the campus of South Carolina State University!

New "Green Screen" Creations
In some of my classes we take advantage of the communication program's green-walled television studio to do some projects using chromakey. This technique allows for two images or video clips to be blended together. Television weather reports with fancy maps, charts and graphics and a meteorologist appear on screen is a way all of us have seen "green screen" in action.
SC State communications major Kendra Pigler is savvy to working the green screen to create pictorial magic. She produced this campaign flyer a couple years ago using the TV studio green wall for her image then blending it with the background shot and adding text. Nice work Kendra!

Kizoa Slideshow: Magnolia Cemetery in All its Splendor
Kizoa is a fun, easy to use, slideshow and collage program for creating colorful presentations put to music and an array of special effects and animation.
I created this Kizoa slideshow about Magnolia Cemetery in Charleston. I have written two books about this grand 19th Victorian necropolis. You can read about them on another blog I have called BirdsEyeViews.
Magnolia Birds - Kizoa Online Movie Maker
There are just a few easy steps to embed a Kizoa slideshow onto a Blogger post. After copying the HTML code while in Kizoa, start a new post, write a few sentences to set up the presentation, then click to HTML from Compose (in the post template's top left corner), paste the code into the template, then switch back to Compose, hit Update, then View blog, and then your slideshow should be there.
Kizoa is free, up to a point. So just sign up and start creating!
